I am delighted to hear my work 'The porch' has been acquired for the Redland Art Gallery Collection. While preparing for this exhibition I walked around streets in Cleveland, observing many views of the suburban front porch and balcony, a space often occupied with potted plants and a comfy looking lounge chair. These cosy outdoor/indoor spaces are ones we create for ourselves; as one Redland local responded when describing their garden - “I have pot plants outside my front door, so I’m limited in how many plants I can have.”
