I'm very excited to be a finalist in the prestigious Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The Wynne Prize for landscape painting of Australian scenery, or figure sculpture, celebrates the diversity of representations of our country.
The Wynne, Archibald and Sir John Sulman Prizes are on show from 10th May to 17th August 2025.
Congratulations to the winners and finalists.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship at Darling Harbour is a small curated green space surrounded by city buildings. Built in 1988 to mark Australia’s bicentenary, the garden symbolises the friendship between Sydney and the city of Guangzhou, China. Forming part of my City and Nature project, this work explores our layered and intrinsic relationship with green space.
City and Nature is a place where town planning, heritage and culture, mixes with maintenance regimes, leisure and a sense of tranquility. As we adapt to increasing temperatures, I am thinking about the role plants contribute to create liveable city environments. I believe sustainable green spaces are vital for our well-being, both physical and mental.
